"THE REAL NOMMO"
The Real Nommo has just released his New song Black Christmas and I am totally thrilled about it. Some will say, it doesn't matter whether Jesus is black, white, or any other color. In that case, there shouldn't be any raised eyebrows with this song and Jesus being black. According to the scriptures, we know he cannot be white, and based on the description of his hair; black folk hair is the only hair that matches that description, children of God. All that is beside the point.. The mental picture of a white Jesus has separated the masses of our people from one another. Please read on.
We know that God is Spirit. We know that he must be worshipped in spirit and in truth. So, what is this about a Black Jesus? Jesus came in the flesh, the son of God. I believe in God's wisdom, he made a choice of colors when sending Jesus, cause he knew, it was going to take a little more of him to reach most of us. He is so colorful, Jesus could have been any color, but he foresaw mans wicked heart and fixed it from the beginning. Now, it's for you to finally get it. Watch this. Please explain to me how you can draw a man to Christ, when the God he is supposed to serve look just like his abuser. On the other side of the coin, a man who feels and sees himself as a likeness of his God, would empower himself to Godly thinking. How many kids grow up saying I want to be just like my daddy? Proverbs 23:7 "As a man thinketh, so is he" How can you think about what you never saw. How can you think about what you never heard? Your thoughts come from your frame of references, and past visuals and audio experiences.
If all you see are images of a White man that is reverenced as God, and this is your abuser, can you really, embrace that religion? Those of us who are beyond the beginning stage in your walk with God, would not be affected by it, but those who are struggling with their relationships with God, would find it very difficult. That is why we have so many religions, separating our people from the faith. You would look like a fool to some progressive thinking young people and they would feel insulted if you came to them with an image of someone who closely resembles every thing that has caused them hurt and pain.
Finally, a person who sees himself as he sees his God will most likely try to develop Godly attributes. There would be no niggas bitches and hoes. A black Jesus would never degrade his women, and he would stand up for righteousness and sing songs of power and glory. Can you accept that God is a spirit but when he walked the earth as Christ, he was a Black man?
Why, or why Not?
